Not all hair behaves the same once it’s preserved in jewelry resin. This is especially important when working with very light hair.
White, Blonde, or Silver Hair May Go Clear
Ultra-light hair can sometimes turn translucent once suspended in resin. This depends on the texture, thickness, and your chosen background.
If you’re unsure whether your hair sample will stay visible, feel free to email me before ordering. You can even send a small test bundle, and she’ll check it for you to ensure it won’t disappear or turn transparent inside the stone.

2. Choosing the Right Background for Your Hair Color
Your background choice makes all the difference in how beautifully the hair “pops” in the final piece.
White or Light Hair
Light-colored hair stands out most when paired with a dark or richly textured background, such as:
- Galaxy Stone ®
- Crushed raw birthstones (esp dark ones)
- Birth flowers
- Black pearl shimmer
These backgrounds provide contrast so each strand stays visible and defined.
Dark Hair
Dark hair is more versatile and looks beautiful with nearly all background options. The only exception:
Avoid extremely dark backgrounds, which may cause the strands to blend in. Avoid Galaxy Stone® and Black pearl shimmer.
Otherwise, feel free to choose anything!
3. How Much Hair You Need to Send
You only need to send about 20 strands for most pieces — sometimes even less. That said:
- Sending more is always helpful, especially for larger pieces.
- If the hair has multiple colors, it’s great to include a mix so we can choose the most aesthetic and visible strands.
More options mean more control over placement, contrast, and overall beauty.
4. Packaging & Shipping Instructions
After you place your order, you’ll receive detailed instructions on exactly how to package and mail your hair safely.
Everything will be outlined clearly in your confirmation email, including:
